New Innovative Artificial Taste Sensory Technology Launched in North America
November, 2010 – New Orleans, USA – Intelligent Sensor Technology (Insent) of Japan and C-Therm Technologies of Canada jointly announces the introduction of the Insent TS-5000Z Taste Sensing System in North America at the 2010 American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) Annual Exhibition.
The patented technology represents a significant advancement over current artificial taste characterization tools available in offering greater selectivity and reliability in the characterization of pharmaceutical, food and beverage products. The sensors employ an artificial lipid membrane mimicking the human tongue in interpreting taste.
The advanced technology is already highly used in Asia and Europe with over 250 clients, including Eisai Pharmaceuticals, Boehringer Ingelheim, Del Monte Corporation, Kirin Brewery Company and Kyushu University.
President & CEO of Intelligent Sensor Technology, Dr. Hidekazu Ikezaki, comments “we are very excited to be taking the opportunity to introduce our innovative sensory technology to the North American market. Our new demo lab in Dallas operated by our affiliate Higuchi USA will offer our clients the opportunity to experience the rich and insightful capabilities the TS-5000Z offers.”
Adam Harris, Managing Director of C-Therm Technologies, further elaborates “we see a really strong demand for this product amongst our clients and are happy to be working with our long-time partners in Japan in supporting the North American introduction. Their group has been distributing our process analytical technology in Japan for some years and it is great we can now help in distributing their impressive taste sensory technology.”
